Research on Calculation of Transformer's Parameters with Modern Information Technology

In many years teaching of Electric Machinery, Electrical Engineering Theory, and Power System Analysis, I found that students have difficulty learning how to calculate transformer parameters. It is even more difficult for them to understand the reason of reducing capacity of short circuit of three windings transformer which has different capacities in each winding. However, the calculation of transformer parameters is still very important to the student in electricity field in study and future work. Based on the parameters calculation of two windings transformer, the paper analyzes the capacity adjustment of short circuit of three windings transformers under the assumption that the transformer’s parameters keep constant as test condition changes. The teaching practice indicates that this teaching method is very helpful for students to understand and grasp the parameter calculation of transformers.
